The Djembe Funk first record will be here June 4. There’s lots of pals making appearances. There’s lots of me. And there’s this website. I am kicking off online drum circles. Going over hand drum patterns. Talking about how to get more hand drums into popular music not only because not everyone needs a drum set, I get relief from a movement disorder from djembe sessions. If anyone out there could use that too, all about it.

Some of the record is protest. Some of it is sounds from all over the world. Some of it is goofy, intentionally. It is all connected. Once play is hit, it’s a commitment. I am making something here for someone like me because I love all this stuff. I realize it isn’t for everyone. But, It’s also not trying to be for everyone. It’s meant for a little to like it a lot, not for a lot to barely notice.
